Ken Ye is a locally trained orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty training in Paediatric Orthopaedics.

He specialises in the orthopaedic management of neuromuscular conditions like Cerebral Palsy, as well as paediatric orthopaedic trauma, and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery in children.

Ken is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne and consults privately at VicOrtho in North Melbourne and operates privately at St Vincent’s Private Hospital, East Melbourne.

He also works with the Hugh Williamson Gait Laboratory at the Royal Children’s Hospital, where he analyses complex gait patterns in children.
Ken obtained his medical degree through University of Melbourne, followed by a PhD in surgery with a focus on developing stem cell treatment of cartilage lesions in the knee.

Ken has obtained post fellowship training in neuromuscular orthopaedics through a research and clinical fellowship at the Royal Children’s Hospital. He remains dedicated and engaged in research in association with the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and has published widely in local and international medical journals.

He has undertaken further international fellowship in paediatric orthopaedic surgery through the John Radcliffe Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford, UK, where he managed all paediatric orthopaedic conditions such as hip dysplasia, paediatric flat foot, toe walking, and gait analysis.

Ken is a dedicated surgeon who always strives for the best care for children and families to provide the optimal outcome. Ken is a team player and is part of many multidisciplinary teams at the Royal Children’s Hospital to provide comprehensive and holistic care to children with complex medical and orthopaedic needs.

Outside of work, Ken plays badminton and likes to sing karaoke. However, Ken mostly provides free ‘Uber’ services for his four children on the weekend.
