Yes. You will require a referral to see one of our surgeons. Referrals can be from your GP or from a Specialist or Consultant Physician. GP referrals are valid for 12 months, unless specified otherwise.

A Specialist or Consultant Physician referral is valid for 3 months, unless it is for an admitted patient in which case the referral is valid for the time mentioned or for the duration of the admission. When the referral expires, you will need another updated referral to continue your care with our surgeons.

If you are unsure as to the surgeon you need to be referred to, have a look at our Surgeon’s Profiles to get detailed information on the conditions they treat.

Yes. You will need to bring any X-rays that are relevant to your problem for your appointment. You will also need to bring your referral along with you if it hasn’t already been faxed or emailed to the clinic.

You can find our fax number and email on our Contact page if you wish to email or fax through your referral to the clinic.

Please contact the clinic for queries relating to consultation fees or other costs.

We accept card payments (VISA,MASTERCARD,AMEX) and cash.

Payment is required on the day of consultation.

Being a private practice, there will be a charge involved for seeing one of our surgeons.

Private insurance does not cover the cost of appointments. Those patients who do not have private insurance and require surgical treatment are advised to seek care through the Specialist clinics at the Royal Children’s Hospital.

If you decide to go through the public system, the option to pick a surgeon is forfeit irrespective of the number of times you have seen the surgeon privately before. The hospital will be responsible for allocating a surgeon for your care.

Yes. Please ensure you bring all relevant information such as previous x-rays, results, surgery reports, discharge summary etc for your consultation.

You will require a referral from your GP. Please contact the clinic once you have obtained the referral to book your appointment. Please ensure you bring your referral and all other relevant information for your consultation.

Yes, our surgeons are happy to see international patients. Please contact the clinic to book your appointment and for information related to costs.

The X-ray service at the clinic is offered Lake Imaging, our preferred radiology facility, and it is a private service which involves a fee.

You can use our BOOK ONLINE feature to find and book the next available date. If you are unable to find a suitable time or date, please contact the clinic.

The duration of stay depends on the type of surgery and various other factors. Please discuss this with your surgeon during the consultation.
