Referrals
Victorian Orthopaedic Centre offers specialty consultations in Orthopaedics. Medicare regulations require that patients have a valid referral from a primary medical practitioner (GP).
It is also highly desirable to have a local medical practitioner involved with your care. All surgeons at Victorian Orthopaedic Centre have a strong commitment to providing timely correspondence with your local medical practitioner.
Referrals from GPs are valid for 12 months when compared to referrals from Specialists which are only valid for 3 months. It is advisable to procure a new referral when the current one expires.
